JEpg vs. raw file formats

1. Explain the main differences between a raw and jpeg file. Answer: The main difference between any JPEG and RAW file is its size. RAW files are significantly bigger than JPEG (and any other) image file formats. That’s because they contain all the raw image information captured by your digital camera’s sensors, completely uncompressed.

2. Which file is bigger RAW or Jpeg? Answer: Generally, a RAW file will be between two and six times larger than a JPEG file. RAW files are bigger because they contain a much greater amount of image data.

3. Can you change a Raw file to a Jpeg, once your photos are the computer? How? Answer: Step1: Right-click on your RAW file and choose Open With > Preview. Step2: Inside of the Preview window, go to File > Export. Step3: In the export dialogue box, set the “Format” to JPEG. Step4: Click Save to export your RAW file as a JPEG.

4. If you were shooting an important event would you shoot it RAW or Jpeg? Explain. Answer: If I were shooting an important event i would choose RAW, Reason why is because i can take more pictures.
